American Idol…Michelle Obama!

Beautiful, classy, confident, graceful, intelligent, well-spoken, are all what come to mind to when you hear the name Michelle Obama.  Her speech at the Democratic convention was flawless.  If ever there has been a woman (besides my mother) that I aspire to be like, it is without a doubt Mrs. Obama…uh er excuse me, First Lady Obama! 

Whatever party you are affiliated with there is no denying that, this is a great woman, not standing behind her man but, right beside him, front and center.  If ever there were an American Idol, Lady Michelle has won, hands down!

Please get some fruit!  However, as grocery prices continue to climb, it is getting more and more expensive to try and eat healthy.  But, that’s where The Glamorous WAHM comes in, cuz ya know I’m always thinking about you!

Tonight’s The Night!

I’m going back to college.  At 6:45p.m. Central time I take my official, “walk to class” with my enrollment advisor.  Am I excited?  Yes.  I’m loving the fact that, at the University of Phoenix, I can take all of my classes on line.

This takes discipline, but I’m pretty sure I can handle it.  Unfortunatley I am very sick today.  My youngest girl caught a cold from school in the first week and now, the toddlers and I are sick.  We have been absolutely miserable.  But I’m suckin’ it up and driving on!

So ya’ll wish me luck and I’ll be back to tell you about, my walk to class and the homework no doubt.

Your Invited to My Next Glamorous Event…A Virtual Baby Shower Contest!

I’m at it again, planning another big event!  This time it’s a virtual baby shower and, it’s going to be big!  This event holds a special place in my heart because, I am throwing it to help a pregnant mom out there who is financially distressed.  So, there will be a special requirement to enter this contest.

This is a short essay contest.  Each contestant will be required to leave a short essay in the comments explaining some of the hard times they have faced while being pregnant and, how winning this virtual baby shower will help to make their life a little easier.

Should I Or Should I not?

Before I started blogging, I set boundaries as to what I would blog about.  I never wanted to hurt anyone else with my blogging or blog about anything I don’t want to have read about 10 years down the road.  However, blogging is really a stress reliever and it has saved my husband from having to hear some serious bitching.  He might not think so but, I’m telling you, it has!

With that said, there is this one particular family member that works my damn and last few nerves!  Fortunately, I don’t have to interact with them often.  But when I do, it is always so stressful.  If the world isn’t coming to an end, they always manage to say something just stupid or offensive.  I mean they do it so much, I’m starting to even wonder if it’s not really intentional.  Because, nobody would be so freaking annoying on purpose! Right?

So should I blog about this family member or not?  Well, actually I already am…hehehe.  But I wanna say names baby, I want to tell them some things and I want to tell you some things about them that, just piss me off!  I know, I know, I can’t do that.  I’d be crossing my blogging boundaries.  But what I will do is ask you all this:

How would you handle this “type” of family member?  It could be anyone, an uncle, cousin, parent, sister, and yes in-laws are included too!

Oh Those Boys!

I thought my daughters were a handful but, found out I was mistaken after having boys!  I call them my two man wrecking crew!  They reak havoc in every room of the house.  If you can’t find one just, follow the trail of toys, food, spills, and unfortunately sometimes urine!

I didn’t really have to try too hard with potty training my girls.  I simply bought them underwear and informed them that, they could not wet themselves while wearing them.  Voila, potty trained!  My boys, well let’s just say I have one still in diapers and, one in pull ups.

God is Good! All The Time!

There is a very short dialogue that goes on in the black church, between the pastor and his congregation.

Pastor:  “God is good!”

Congregation:  “All the time!”

Indeed, He is good, all the time.  If you read my previous post, then you already know, yesterday was the day from hell.  And, this morning didn’t start out too great either.  But, while driving the hubby to work I started thinking and saying in my mind,”I will not be a defeated person.  I love my family.  I could not live a day without them.  However, I am overwhelmed with all that is going on.  I may not be able to change the situation but, God give me the strength to endure it and, help me to be the best wife and  mother that I can be.”  And with that, God gave me that peace that surpasses all understanding.

He knew I really needed a break this morning and, he has blessed me by keeping the boys sleep since we returned from taking the hubby to work.  I’ve actually been able to have a cup of tea, eat breakfast, and at this very moment, blog in peace.  You have no idea how good this feels.  I was also able to get the school bus situation straightened out for my daughter.  There was an error in the computer disqualifying her from riding the bus.  But with God’s help, I came home this morning and persisted until, they figured out what was going on.

As far as school.  I am at peace with starting on the 26th instead of today.  I even went on line and applied for a scholarship and will continue to look for grants and aid throughout the day.  So my blogging family, I say this to you…God is good!  All the time!  Be blessed!
